Support The Ethics Trial

10 primary schools in NSW offer this semester an alternative to children who do not attend SRE classes. This trial is supported by numerous organisations, and most importantly, by many parents. This hasn't stopped some established Christian lobby groups to campaign against the trial. To stop parents from choosing.

Make yourself heard. Email your local newspaper, your local MP, Minster Firth or the Premier herself in support of the trial. And copy or forward your message to ethics.trial@gmail.com. We will post your emails here and on Facebook. Such that your voice is on record and will not go unnoticed.

I Support the Ethics Trial in NSW Primary Schools

Dear Minister
I am writing to add my strong support for the Ethics Trial  [more].
I support choice by children and their parents.
I support an evidence-based approach rather than a doctrinaire attachment to traditional teaching.
I support secular education in schools and freedom of speech (including for advocates of religions) in society.
Let us learn from the experience of teaching philosophy for children in Scotland and Buranda, Queensland.
I note also the observation made on the Compass program on ABC TV last Sunday that the ethics classes all but eliminated the problem of bullying.
I would appreciate learning your views.
