I Support the Ethics Trial in NSW Primary Schools
Dear Barry O'Farrell
I am writing to add my strong support for the Ethics Trial [more].
It seems to me there would be two really positive outcomes for the teaching of Ethics in Public Schools as an alternative to non-Scripture :-
* the children would be learning in a constructive way instead of wasting time running errands or sitting in hallways as is the case in some schools in this area.
* more importantly they would be involved in a class in a positive way. At present going to non-scripture means being excluded from an activity which most or all others attend. This exclusion leads to bullying and discrimination.
My family had a very distressing time dealing with the treatment our children faced because we wanted them to attend non-scripture. This was in 3 different schools over a period of about 10 years. This is in the past for us now as our children have left school. At the time I was amazed such discrimination could exist on the North Shore where I've lived most of my life. I don't want other families to endure this. The Ethics Classes really might be the solution.
Please support the Ethics Classes Mr O'Farrell.
