Support The Ethics Trial

10 primary schools in NSW offer this semester an alternative to children who do not attend SRE classes. This trial is supported by numerous organisations, and most importantly, by many parents. This hasn't stopped some established Christian lobby groups to campaign against the trial. To stop parents from choosing.

Make yourself heard. Email your local newspaper, your local MP, Minster Firth or the Premier herself in support of the trial. And copy or forward your message to ethics.trial@gmail.com. We will post your emails here and on Facebook. Such that your voice is on record and will not go unnoticed.

I Support the Ethics Trial in NSW Primary Schools

Dear Wayne Merton
I am writing to add my strong support for the Ethics Trial  [more].
It is silly and wasteful to not have a meaningful alternative to scripture. What is so wrong with teaching general ethics to those who choose not to go to scripture and be taught religious ethics and morals? There are so many people of different faiths that a scripture lesson for one faith can no longer satisfy everyone's needs. As all material for the ethics program would be made available to SRE providers, no one will 'miss out', so what is the problem? I really don't understand why this is so controversial. Just sounds like common sense to me. I am a Liberal voter.
